The Australian Marketing Institute (Victoria) next week (Wednesday, 22 April) hosts the second of three recession-resistant seminars designed to help organisations combat economic slowdown.
Guest speaker at the breakfast seminar is one of Australia’s most senior business leaders, Justin Milne, Group Managing Director of Telstra Media.
Milne’s session – entitled ‘Good Marketing In Bad Times; how to outsmart the recession’ – will underline how tough economic times don't need to spell bad news for marketers. Justin will show how marketers can use technology to make their advertising efficient and accountable during economic slowdown.
Lin Windram General Manager of AMI said: “We’re delighted to have a speaker of Justin Milne’s calibre join us. As a former CEO of OzEmail and MD of the Microsoft Network, his insights into the merge between technology and marketing in Australia are unrivalled.”
AMI’s ‘Marketing Excellence’ series – sponsored by Melbourne-based brand revival agency Fenton Stephens – features best-practice case studies and thought leadership from the worlds of academia, corporate life and marketing consultancy. The seminars culminate in a multi-disciplinary event showcasing award-winning examples of marketing effectiveness by companies such as Aviva and BlueScope Steel.
The early morning events at The Point on Albert Park Lake (7.30am – 9.30am) allow attendees to grab breakfast and gain critical insights without interrupting the normal working day. Past experience shows the events to also present excellent business networking opportunities.
Roger Stephens, MD of Fenton Stephens who sponsor this series of AMI events, said: “As marketers we should apply our skills to a different environment, not necessarily a 'worse' one. Justin’s approach to brand revival and regeneration is sure to illuminate the different opportunities for different times.”
