The Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) will be participating as the Silver Sponsor at Cityscape 2009, which will be held in Abu Dhabi on April 19th - 22nd. The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and Raya Aqaba for Investment and Development will also be participating at Cityscape along with ADC.
ADC’s CEO Eng. Imad Fakhoury said, “ADC’s participation at Cityscape 2009 aims at promoting the unique real estate investment environment in Aqaba and highlighting the attractive investment opportunities that are available in the real estate sector for both Arab and international investors."
ASEZA’s Deputy Chief Commissioner, Commissioner for Economic Development and Investment Affairs, Dr. Bilal Bashir, noted “The strong and effective participation of the ASEZA and the ADC is part of Jordan’s appreciation of the role that Arab investors in general and GCC investors in particular play in achieving the economic development of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone by benefiting from the numerous investment opportunities it offers in addition to its competitive business climate.
Mr. Fakhoury stressed that: "The Aqaba Special Economic Zone has great unparalleled value proposition even at this time the world is facing this international financial crisis. This is due to the pragmatic scale of Aqaba’s development potential and as a result of Jordan’s resilient macro economic stability and competitive investment environment".
He added, "Sponsoring one of the largest property investment and development events in the world will provide us with the opportunity to promote Aqaba's great potential and investment opportunities as well as learn about and benefit from the experiences of leading real estate development companies and authorities across the region."
ADC will be highlighting a number of its achievements and investment opportunities during Cityscape, which include the real estate development anchor project with Al Ma’abar International, an Abu Dhabi investment group, which has obtained the rights for redeveloping the main port current location and the area surrounding it, to establish the Marsa Zayed project, which will transform this port area into a world class waterfront strategic tourism and business attraction in the Zone and transform Aqaba's northern corniche into one of the leading Red Sea tourism destinations. Eng. Fakhoury stressed on the importance of strengthening and developing the strategic economic relations between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates in general and its capital, Abu Dhabi in particular.
Eng. Fakhoury stated, “Our achievements and upcoming projects come as part of ADC’s efforts, as the development arm of ASEZA and the central development vehicle for ASEZ, to continuously work to transform the Aqaba master plan into a reality through public private partnerships (PPPs), the modus operandi of ADC. ” .
