FEECO International, an industry leader of material handling, thermal processing & agglomeration equipment, and ENCAP, LLC, a Midwest-based company which creates eco-friendly lawn and garden care products are proud to support the First Annual Green Innovations 2009 Symposium hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Earth Day, April 22, 2009.
Green Innovations 2009 will launch the University’s new Environmental Management and Business Institute (EMBI) which was inspired by the University’s founding idea to be a leader in environmental awareness. “The EMBI will be a great addition to UWGB and the community. It will provide a way for companies like ours to work with other public and private-sector partners to solve environmental problems in a sustainable manner,” said Dan Madigan, president of FEECO, International. “We are happy to be a part of the launch of the EMBI and have already experienced the benefits of collaborating with the University and its students.”
The first annual event will celebrate Earth Day and bring together nationally recognized experts on the environment and sustainability. Exhibitors from emerging as well as existing businesses using new innovations in biomass conversion, energy-saving devices, renewable energy sources and green business practices will participate. With the main focus of sustainability, the Entrepreneur’s Showcase multi-track agenda will address developing human capital, profitability, the future workforce and much more.
According to Chris Calawerts, President of ENCAP, LLC, “Our companies are in a great position to give testament on the significance of the EMBI and what it means to the community. We continue to enlist the support of students and faculty from UW-Green Bay for research and solution-development for local, regional and global environmental issues on sustainability.”
Calawerts will participate in the afternoon session, “Transition to Sustainability. Using ENCAP’s history as a model, he will discuss resources available to businesses moving into new product development or green practices. Other topics include ENCAP’s future focus as it relates to the environment, sustainability and working with the EMBI. “This symposium is a wonderful opportunity for ENCAP to share its 10 years of experience on innovation and sustainability,” stated Calawerts.
