Quincy Memorials, a leading provider of monuments and memorials, today announced the creation of a new division within their company: the Pre-Need Division.
The “Pre-Need” concept has been growing in popularity with the funeral home industry, but the concept of advance planning of memorialization is still in its infancy stages and is actually the final step in the pre-planning process. Jeffrey Poirier, Senior Manager at Quincy Memorials, said that their business has been in discussions with representatives of the funeral industry and that their company has established this division specifically to address a need and fill a void in the market.
“There are a few reasons why people historically have hesitated when it comes to planning funeral and memorial arrangements in advance,” said Poirier, who added, “However, there are many reasons why it is prudent to make arrangements in advance. The majority of people just are not aware that a monument can be pre-arranged.”
He cited a number of key reasons why pre-planning of memorialization is a good idea:
• Stress Free: A critical decision will not have to be made at such an emotional time. Becoming aware of your options before actually making any decisions will give you more ease when going through the design process.
• Hedge against inflation: As prices of materials, such as granite, continue to increase, a pre-need purchase assures a hedge against inflation.
• Shared decision: enables the individual to make the decision with loved ones, and avoids the potential for disputes with the family over the details and choice of a monument.
Pre-planning allows for greater planning with the family; the chance to reflect upon the individual’s life and come up with a way to best represent the life lived.
The Quincy Memorials Pre-Need Division will work with funeral homes, pre-arrangement specialists, Medicaid consultants and the public directly for their services, which include complete consultation on all steps of the memorization process. Quincy Memorials, in preparation for the launch of their Pre-Need Division, has prepared a document, “10 Mistakes You Don’t Want To Make When Choosing a Memorial” which is available at no cost. Additionally, Quincy Memorials will provide speakers to organizations on the topic of Pre-Need, as requested.
