NISA Product Director, Vipul Kinariwala said, “I am pleased to announce the release of NISA DesignStudio Version 16. The solution has gained in popularity and acceptance among the structural engineering community since its launch in 2006. User surveys helped us to develop the solution further and include some critical enhancements to significantly increase the productivity of our customers.”
DesignStudio, developed for engineers who predominantly analyze and design multistoried buildings, apartment complexes and industrial enclosures made of RCC & steel, has excellent reporting functions and automatically generates detailed AutoCAD® drawings. Known for ease of use, DesignStudio also offers linear static, eigenvalue, response spectrum, P-Delta and construction sequence analyses.
Version 16 offers numerous significant improvements over the previous release. For better interoperability, it includes an improved STAAD Pro® interface. New enhanced modeling and design features include automatic generation of shell elements from floor panel definition, automatic shell model generation for flat slabs, raft foundations as per rigid beam theory, flat slabs using equivalent frame method with shell elements, shear walls, corbels, as well as five additional types of concrete staircases. Automatic drawing generation for the above, beam support identification and reporting are also enhanced. To make the solution even more user-friendly, automated selections of sectional sizes for beams and columns and isolated footing sizes from a user specified list have been introduced.
For an even more streamlined approach, DesignStudio now offers enhanced load specification options including the ability to copy loads across levels, automatically compute seismic forces and static accidental torsion. It also contains seismic ductile detailing design provisions for IS: 13920. Expanding DesignStudio’s structural drawing library, the new release also includes rebar rationalization for beams & columns.
