Avenda Systems, the innovator in identity-based network security, announced a program that addresses customer requirements for a more efficient solution for the deployment of identity and access control. Cisco’s NAC, Identity Based Privilege Networking (IBPN) and Common Identity Framework are proving expensive to deploy and manage for enterprises.
Each of these Cisco solutions focuses on different aspects of authenticating a user or a device onto a network, such as identity, network admission control and accounting, as well as managing these various associated entitlements and access controls. The number of required devices and management interfaces grows as the number of users and security requirements increase.
"An increasing number of organizations concerned with supporting security infrastructures made up of multiple components are turning to Avenda to solve their identity and access control challenges,” said Ron DiBiase, VP of Sales at Avenda. “The Avenda solution allows organizations to consolidate device functionality and management interfaces into a single platform, while reducing power and space requirements."
The Avenda Migration Program also provides a smooth transition from currently deployed Cisco environments to Avenda’s cost-effective, advanced capability solution. The program offers a trade-in credit for installed devices and a migration service, which includes pre-installation planning as well as rule and policy conversion to allow for a seamless cutover. In conjunction, Avenda has published a detailed whitepaper outlining the key advantages of the Avenda solution, including comprehensive multi-vendor support, deployment flexibility and substantial cost savings.
Avenda’s eTIPS policy platform delivers a complete identity-based network solution that off-loads or replaces any Cisco ACS, Cisco NAC Appliance components, Cisco NAC Profiler, or Cisco Guest Server. Avenda’s open standards approach also ensures consistency in any multi-vendor network or protocol environment. A single management interface enables the deployment of intuitive, role-based policies to maintain network-wide compliance guidelines. Visit Avenda at RSA 2009 in San Francisco, April 20 – 23rd.
