Specialized Communications Corp., of Smithsburg, Maryland announced today that they have been awarded Premier Dealer and Service Center status for 1 Beyond™ products, including the P2 Wrangler™, a portable, P2 field ingest and editing system, the first in the industry.
The ruggedized unit offers rapid automated unload of up to four P2 memory cards at 4x transfer speeds while simultaneously storing that data into two 320GB, removable HDD drives (ruggedized); and instant review and adding of metadata to video clips. Previews are in high resolution, full screen and offers optional editing functions while in the field. For instance:
• Film or documentary “rough cuts”;
• Instant on-set playback Scene and Green Screen Chroma keyed shots;
• Daily reviews connected to HD, LCD or projector;
• Final edits, e.g. for remote ENG markets to quickly upload and Air News.
Specialized Communications offers both the Wrangler™ and the Wrangler Pro™. The Wrangler™ sports a 17” LCD screen, solid-state system/applications disk for ultimate in reliability, two raided video GoHDCart drive cartridges, all packed in a 39 lb. ruggedized case. The Wrangler Pro™ has the same solid-state reliability but with a 20-inch LCD screen and six raided video GoHDCart drive cartridges and weighs in at 51 lbs.
Each are packed with the powerful Wrangler™ software, providing the fastest and only parallel multi-P2 unloading with simultaneous writing to multiple devices, true appliance operation (automatic, asynchronous P2 unload), and visual review of captured video including metadata editing.
Additional features include:
• Four P2 card readers, DVD burner (Blu-Ray is optional), second DVI output.
• Full sized keyboard with numeric keypad and touchpad, folds for easy storage.
• Hot-swappable disk cartridges, 320GB, 7200RPM, cast aluminum housing with rubber shock absorbers inside, RAID Protection.
The Wrangler is certified for Avid Media Composer, MoJo DX, Adobe CS3 suite, Matrox Axio, RTX-2, AJA Xena HD, Blackmagic (all), Grass Valley Edius, SP, and Storm and comes with built in DLT or LTO tape for acrchiving, HD-SDI and /or component output for professional HD video monitoring and unique collaborative instant access – connect up to five MAC’s or PC’s.
