John Palmer’s style, known as Escapism, features his unique combination of movement, texture and color, energizing the viewer while providing escape for the artist. For a city like New Orleans that has had to weather so much since the horror of Hurricane Katrina, Escapism should speak volumes to its diverse populace. When the viewer looks at Escapism, they can seen a better place and a shiny tomorrow. John Palmer's enthusiam for his art cannot be bottled, but looking at his Escapism art is the closet thing to capturing the true spirit of the artist and man.
John Palmer is thrilled about going to the Crescent City to display his artwork. “New Orleans has always been a special place for me: the community, history and spirit of that great town makes it an ideal setting to showcase Escapism.”
Also featured at the art opening of March 7, 2009 will be the mosaic tile artwork of Houston artist Chris Silkwood. One of the evenings highlights will be a freshly unveiled Silkwood & Palmer collaboration on wood. These two artists both live and work out of the Heights part of Houston, Texas and draw inspiration from the history and community support around them. John and Chris are great friends and mutually benefit one another from a symbiotic artistic relationship.
Having been a featured artist at Ariodante gallery for years, John Palmer is honored to be selected for this premier showing. The Palmer and Silkwood show will run from the opening date of March 7 through June 2009.
