Ocean Business, which is held every two years at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton (England), will take place from 31 March to 2 April 2009.
Ocean Business 2009 is expected to attract 240 exhibitors from 24 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, the UK and the USA, as well as 3,000 visitors from more than 30 countries. Ocean Business is a hands-on exhibition incorporating presentations and on-water demonstrations and training sessions, with a wide range of networking opportunities.
A total of seven sea-technology companies from France will be exhibiting at the Ocean Business trade show as part of the French Pavilion (Stand J1), which is being organised with the backing of the French Trade Commission in the UK and UBIFRANCE, the French agency for international business development.
The French companies, from across the sector, will present their innovative products and advanced technological solutions in sea technology in order to reinforce their professional contacts with British partners and to provide new business opportunities for trade between France and the UK.
Companies on the French Pavilion are listed below; a catalogue with further details on each of the exhibitors is available upon request.
EURO/CFD
EURO/CFD specialises in the computational simulation of physical phenomena and offers adapted and personalised solutions for each customer. The company, which was founded in 2005 by two experts in scientific simulations, is now the leader in its field, with 10 experts and a computing power of more than 150 processors. EURO/CFD’s expertise can be applied to a wide range of projects.
Hemisphere SUB
Hemisphere SUB specialises in marine coastal management based on its technical and theoretical expertise in marine biology. It offers services both in field work (impact studies, GIS/cartography, scientific diving and benthic inventories) and in research projects carried out with academics from various universities (innovative methodology development and the development of new sustainable coastal management practices).
INGEO
INGEO is one of the leading survey companies in France. It headquarters are in Saint-Omer (northern France) with a further three offices in that region and another branch in Paris. INGEO has been providing bathymetric and hydrographic surveys for seven years and has won major contracts in river studies, port studies and coastal studies. INGEO is the only French surveyor’s office to have a complete chain of multibeam acquisition. The company has just invested in new equipment – a KLEIN system 3000 and a Dual Frequency Side Scan Sonar. This investment has been made possible by the award of a large contract for work to be carried out in Brittany (western France).
NEOTEK
NEOTEK, which was founded in 2004, is an international supplier and manufacturer of electronic instrumentation and systems for environmental and hydrological monitoring, meteorology, oceanography and positioning technologies. NEOTEK works with a large range of customers, from defence agencies or corporations to industrial, scientific and educational organisations. NEOTEK’s System and Positioning Division is leading special projects including sub-sea platforms, sub-sea videos, sub-sea cables (fibre optics and power/data) and instrumented buoys.
NKE Instrumentation
NKE Instrumentation provides autonomous data loggers for the monitoring of physico-chemical parameters in the marine environment and for ultra-depth sediment monitoring. It also manufactures sensors for radio networks embedded in fishing vessels; automated systems networks for the monitoring of estuarine waters, instrumented buoys and sub-sea observatories; and Provor and Arvor profiling subsurface floats.
SBG Systems
SBG Systems is a fast-growing supplier of miniature high-performance MEMS motion sensors. SBG Systems’ products are designed for use in navigation, antenna tracking or platform stabilisation. The company offers a wide range of sensors, from inclinometers and compasses to high-performance inertial systems that provide accurate 3D orientation and positioning.
SUBSEA TECH Sarl
SUBSEA TECH Sarl, which is based in Marseilles, specialises in the design, fabrication and sale (or rental) of intervention and instrumentation systems for underwater and marine projects. Its products have applications in the oil and gas sectors, in the naval and defence industries, as well as for other underwater projects and scientific laboratories. Subsea Tech also offers consultancy and technical-assistance services in the field of marine and underwater technologies, and welcomes partnerships in the EU or other funded projects. Its multidisciplinary team has extensive expertise in the development of underwater systems as well as significant experience in marine operations.
About the Trade Commission of the French Embassy in the UK
The Trade Commission of the French Embassy in London promotes trade development between France and the UK by offering a range of commercial and corporate services to French companies. The Industrial Goods Department organises B2B events in the form of conferences and networking opportunities, mainly in London.
The French Pavilion (Stand J1), with the support of the French Trade Commission, will be part of Ocean Business 2009. The Ocean Business Show will be held from 31 March to 2 April 2009 at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton (UK) between 9.00am and 5.30pm (on the last day, the trade show closes at 4.00pm).
