Blue Oceans is proud to support "The Paul and Winter Team" in their efforts to win the 2009 Cain's Quest Challenge Endurance Race. Life long residents of Labrador West, Jason Paul and Robert Winter bring 50 years of combined experience to the challenge and have both the mental and physical stamina required to win.
The longest snowmobile race in Canada takes participants through 2,300 kms of Labrador's beautiful and rugged backcountry wilderness. Teams will navigate by GPS, experience and intuition through a variety of topography, deep snow and thick wooded areas to the finish line. The race is not for the inexperienced and requires true perseverance to complete. But with a grand prize of $62,000 and international recognition the competition is fierce and draws on a large pool of talented snowmobilers from all around the world.
Blue Oceans will be providing the duo with two Iridium 9505A handheld satellite phones. The phones will give Jason, Robert, their crew and of course their family and friends the piece of mind that they can communicate in an emergency situation. The Iridium 9505A provides superior quality and supersedes the range and reliance of cell phone or radio coverage in the remote Labrador landscape.
