After careful consideration of Made4net’s 3PL WMS solution and implementation plan, Crossroads Distribution has chosen Made4Net WarehouseExpert and BillingExpert (modules of the SCExpert suite) for implementation at their warehouse in Alberton, South Africa.
The implementation is to bring the 3PL business to the next level in terms of technological sophistication to flexibly manage multiple customers across verticals as well as complete visibility. The complete implementation is expected to take about two and a half months. Made4net’s partner, the LAS implementation team, is currently busy with the system setup and configuration.
The implementation of WarehouseExpert and BillingExpert is a very exciting development for Crossroads Distribution as they will be able to provide complete world class third party logistics (3PL) services streamlined to their ever growing South African customer base, knowing that their execution systems will dynamically be able to adapt to their customers highly demanding requirements and collaborate with them as an extension of their business with the necessary flexibility and visibility.
Crossroads selected the SCExpert modules for its extreme agility, ease of use and a very quick implementation cycle. The application is entirely web based, which will enable Crossroads customers to have instant access to their inventory and orders from any device connected to the Internet, all of which serve to improve communications between Crossroads’ clients, staff and daily tasks involved in running a successful warehouse.

With WarehouseExpert for 3PL, Crossroads can control operational costs and increase the profitability of the logistics services provided to its customers. The South African 3PL can now define different handling procedures for each client, with the ability to address unique requirements for specific verticals (like apparel, automotive, pharmaceuticals, foodstuff), and utilize resources to work efficiently. Based on real time data, BillingExpert will enable Crossroads to manage and track all inventory handling, storage fulfillment and transportation activities by business unit or client. Its billing features include special handling charges, custom ancillary charges, and billing for specific environments and tasks in the warehouse.
Made4net’s WMS solution for 3PL will help Crossroads improve contract management with its clients and increase billing accuracy, level of service and boost profitability. WarehouseExpert coupled with BillingExpert will improve performance at every stage of the fulfillment process, from receiving and shipping to returns management and customer billing. In addition, Crossroads Distribution is looking forward to strengthening its core competence with the optimization of physical and human resources to fully satisfy its customers’ versatile logistical requirements and return a profit with low total cost of ownership.
