An array of twelve Schuco Solar photovoltaic (PV) modules has been installed on the roof of The Link Group – Market Research in the Atlanta suburb of Sandy Springs. The solar panels help power the day to day operation of this 7,500 square foot office building in the Lake Ridge 400 Condominium Office Park, 7000 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, Georgia. This 2.2kW solar PV system, supplied to The Link Group by Soenso Energy of Marietta, Georgia, will generate an estimated average of 246kWh per month of clean electricity.
Coal accounts for approximately sixty-four percent of the fuel mix used by utilities in Georgia to generate electricity (Source: U.S. EPA). By partially powering The Link Group with 246kWh per month of solar-generated electricity, this new solar PV system will have these positive effects on our environment:
• Prevent an estimated 4,640 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere each year;
• Is comparable to about 5 barrels of oil not imported for a year;
• Is the equivalent to roughly 1/2 acre of pine forest storing carbon for a year.
