Dr. Mark D. Yates British American Security Expert Pc One Stop Shop advises all computer users to shake themselves out of IT complacency mode. His warning comes hot on the heels of Hackers who have stolen personal information of millions of job seekers registered with the global recruitment company Monster.

Given that an estimated 4 million plus people are registered with Monster in the UK alone we are talking about a significant breach in security. Monster has advised all registered users to change their password next time they log on. Dr. Mark D. Yates stated today for the average non professional computer user there are few countermeasures which can be implemented to prevent professional Hackers, although it should be noted that professional Hackers generally have little interest in hacking a single users PC.

The post Monster Hacking incident investigation will likely recognise this incident is the largest act of computer hacking data pertaining to 25 million child benefit recipients went missing in 2007. PC One Stop Shop suggests it will undoubtedly be listed as one of the largest thefts of data in Britain. Early indications allege the Hackers have been able to access user names, passwords, telephone numbers, email addresses and basic demographic data from the Monster site.

Fortunately for Monster the stolen information did not include CVs, national insurance numbers or personal financial data. Mark Yates The British American Security Expert suggests that even so, there should be some concern as many people utilise the same password and e-mail address for all applications and professional hackers may be able to access customers online bank accounts. Mark D. Yates recommends IT users visit Pc One Stop Shop the UK’s largest e-tailer of information technology products listing over 200,000 IT products for sale. They offer all the industry leading brand names for computer security.

As one of the lead security consultants for "A Security One Stop Shop” Mark Yates believes that all good security begins with the absolute basics. In relation to your IT security Mark Yates recommends every IT user installs an anti-virus software package like Norton or one of the other major brands. Passwords are often not utilised and when they are they frequently consist of information which is easily sourced like date of birth, favourite football team, and/or national insurance number. Its far better to frequently change your passwords to incorporate a series of letters and numbers.
