Xyleme® Inc., the leading provider of 100% XML, SCORM 2004 certified learning content management solutions announced today that it has integrated its industry leading Xyleme LCMS with the EMC Documentum platform. This combined solution is an industry-first that eliminates the need for a stand-alone LCMS by providing learning content management as a native application on top of the world’s leading enterprise content management platform.
Today, most training organizations are forced to work in isolation with departmental learning content management systems that have little or no interoperability with wider enterprise content management initiatives. This prevents training professionals from effectively leveraging valuable content from other parts of the organization for training purposes, forcing duplication of development efforts and redundant versions of the same content. It also limits the role of training organizations by giving them little or no influence on defining an organization’s overall content strategy.
