Macworld visitors will be the first to experience a pre-launch demonstration of the ATTO FastStream™ SC 8500 – the latest addition to its FastStream RAID storage controller line with 8Gb Fibre Channel connectivity to 3Gb SAS/SATA storage. The ATTO ExpressSAS R380 RAID Adapter for direct attached storage environments will also be demonstrated and ATTO’s complete product line will be showcased at booth 1543 during the show in San Francisco this week.
The ATTO FastStream SC 8500 demonstration shows an editing workflow of five streams of 10-bit uncompressed HD video in a RAID environment. FastStream SC 8500 offers RAID 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 protection using four 8-Gb Fibre Channel host interfaces and supports up to 128 3Gb SAS or SATA drives (or up to 8-16 drive JBOD enclosures) providing the highest available bandwidth for steaming applications. The demonstration will also feature the multipathing functionality of FastStream with advanced load balancing for high-availability storage environments. Additionally, visitors can see how the ATTO ExpressNAV™ browser-based storage management tool simplifies set up and management of storage infrastructures remotely. The FastStream offers best-of-class performance for shared environments with RAID parity and a scalable solution that allows for economical storage expansion with affordable SAS and SATA JBODs. The FastStream is interoperable with industry-leading storage enclosures, disk drives and SAN management software.
The ATTO ExpressSAS R380 demonstration shows an editing workflow running multiple streams of standard definition video with RAID protection for direct attached SAS storage. The R380 host-base RAID offers customers unsurpassed 1.3GB/s performance for the most demanding post-production editing and creative content applications. It is designed with features that ensure full application workflow even when drives are in degraded or rebuild modes. And with ExpressSAS, rebuilds are 50% faster reducing your exposure to simultaneous drive failures. ATTO’s web-based interface allow for easy set up and configuration making RAID protection for your direct attached storage an easy, reliable solution.
