Time Warner Cable, the nation’s second largest cable television operator and provider of telecommunications services, today announced that the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) has honored Time Warner Cable with a 2008 Platinum Magellan Award for its “2008 ATM WNY Heroes Awards” community relations campaign. The ATM WNY Heroes Awards recognized unsung heroes in our community who do extraordinary deeds. Time Warner Cable’s campaign received 97 out of a maximum 100 points ranking it 10th out of all 459 entries and 1st in the community relations campaign category.
“This year’s entry, ‘The 2008 ATM WNY Heroes Awards,’ proves to be remarkable in light of tremendous competition,” said Christine Kennedy, LACP Managing Director. “Our belief is that the measurable results of this campaign are excellent, demonstrating the success of this project in connecting with the right people and delivering a highly applicable and persuasive message.”
The League of American Communications Professionals received more than 400 entries from eight countries for the 2008 Magellan Awards. Just one entry in each category received the platinum award and, only one out of every four entries received award-level recognition. Top 50 awards were given to the highest scoring entries regardless of competition class. Scores were derived from a point system that assigns value to various criteria of an entry.
