Richard Carle, a licensed interior designer for Robb & Stucky Interiors in Boca Raton, has been commissioned to renovate the public spaces of the Georgian in Miami Beach. Though hurricanes originally delayed the renovation, the project is now in full swing. Built in 1980, the condominium’s timeless contemporary architecture was the inspiration for the new interiors.
“It was time to catch the interior up with the exterior,” said Carle. “The building continues to attract people, particularly young people, so it was important to update the public spaces accordingly. When it’s complete, it will have a clean, Miami Beach chic feel.”
The lobbies and other public spaces such as the management office, social room and other areas will feature clean-lined furnishings and a neutral background with strong punches of bright color reminiscent of a modern art museum. A free-floating oval reception desk will be the focal or “memory" point of the lobby. It will be a significant piece that will anchor the space and create a contemporary and architectural “wow” for residents and guests entering the building.
“The renovation will increase perceptions of status and the value of the residences,” said Carle. “For these reasons, renovation is something that every condominium in the South Florida market should consider every few years. It’s important to stay fresh.”
