Russell Bedford International, the London-based worldwide accounting group, has confirmed the appointment of Kross Border Trust Services Limited (KBTS) as its member firm on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius.
KBTS, formerly known as KPMG Peat Marwick International Ltd, was among the first management companies set up in Mauritius in the 1990s to provide trust and corporate administration services to an international client base. KBTS was separated from the KPMG network in 2003 and has since continued as an independent fiduciary service provider. KBTS has been a correspondent of Russell Bedford International since July 2005.
The chairman is Georges Chung, a prominent Mauritian economist with a career spanning over 30 years. Positions held range from lecturer in Economics to founder of various successful enterprises in Mauritius. Georges has also served the Mauritian Government, holding a succession of important non-executive positions in a number of institutions. His last non-executive governmental appointment was as Chairman of the Mauritius Financial Services Promotion Agency. Georges is also in charge of business development and marketing at KBTS.
Jaye Jingree is the firm’s Managing Director. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Jaye has over 35 years of post-qualification experience in public practice in sectors including banking, hotels, sugar, manufacturing, trading and the international financial industry. Until 2003 he was a senior partner at KPMG Mauritius, a practice he actively participated in establishing and developing. For the past 15 years, Jaye has been leading the KBTS team in serving a diversified portfolio of international clients. Jaye is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA).
Mow Taher is a Director of KBTS. She holds an MA in Economics & Finance from the University of St Andrews, UK. Mow has 12 years’ experience with KBTS in the global business sector, where her areas of specialisation are company structuring and formation, compliance and business development.
KBTS has two main divisions: the Company Administration & Trust Services Team comprising around 35 staff members; and the Accounting team made up of some 30 staff all with accountancy backgrounds either as qualified or semi-qualified accountants. All the firm’s personnel speak both English and French in addition to their Creole mother tongue. Other languages spoken include Hindi, Gujarati and Swahili.
From its new offices located in the centre of the capital, Port Louis, the firm provides tailor-made services to cater for the needs of individual investors, family businesses, high net worth investors and multinational corporations.
The firm has a Management Licence issued by the Financial Services Commission.
