TT electronics-integrated manufacturing services (ims), a leading provider of comprehensive electronics design, manufacturing and product management services was presented with the ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ ‘Elektra Award’ by ‘Electronics Weekly’. The annual ‘Elektra Awards’ are presented to manufacturing organizations that have made exemplary contributions to the industry and have exhibited the highest level of product and service offerings. This year’s award ceremony was held in Munich, Germany in conjunction with the ‘2008 Electronica Show’, considered to be one of the world’s largest trade fairs devoted to the electronic and technology industry.
In their citation, the judges noted that they were impressed by the way that TT electronics had, “integrated its five manufacturing sites around the world into a global operation, offering customers with small to medium production volumes the facility to choose the manufacturing location best suited to the needs of each manufacturing project”. The presentation was made by Georg Steinberger, Vice President of Communications for Avnet EM EMEA to Jason Arnold, Business Development Manager at TT electronics.
The award punctuates a significant period for TT electronics-ims. Earlier this year, the company announced the formation of its integrated manufacturing services division, uniting the strengths of five electronic manufacturing services businesses strategically located around the world to service its growing worldwide customer base. The move creates the biggest UK owned global electronic manufacturing services (EMS) organization and the 25th biggest EMS operation in the world.
“Being named ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ is an honor for our company and serves as a great endorsement of our new local-global business model we introduced earlier this year”, said Bryon Zhang, Managing Director of TT electronics-ims in Suzhou, China, “Our new business plan offers services to a wider client base, previously exclusive to high volume customers.”
