This highly influential event, held from November 7th-9th at the Convention Centre of The Madinat Jumeirah, was run by the World Economic Forum in partnership with the Government of Dubai.
The Summit brought together 700 of the World’s leading academics, business people, government representatives and society members and focussed on advancing solutions to the most critical challenges facing humanity.
Frederic Bardin, Senior Vice President, CSI said, “Being selected as the local Professional Congress Organiser (PCO) for The Summit on the Global Agenda was a huge milestone for CSI. This achievement demonstrates the growing capability of the business to deliver high profile international events. The Summit’s location in Dubai is also testament to the United Arab Emirates’ association with innovation and breakthrough thinking.”
During the three-day Summit participants of this interdisciplinary event engaged in intense brainstorming sessions to set priorities for improving the state of the World. The Summit provided a platform to share ideas and collaboratively address some of the key issues on the global agenda, from financial insecurity to global warming and from the future of the Internet to water security. The outcomes of the Summit will be presented at the World Economic Forum Meeting 2009 in Davos for further discussion and action.
Working in close coordination with the Government of Dubai, and demonstrating its broad portfolio of services, CSI provided a comprehensive range of services for the Summit. CSI contracted local suppliers for translation, communication, staffing, freight forwarding, logistical arrangements, traffic control and entertainment, tours and excursions.
Frederic Bardin commented, “Holding The Summit on the Global Agenda in Dubai has allowed CSI to strengthen its reputation as the leading PCO in the Middle East region. The logistical complexity of the event and the ingenuity and creativity required to please 700 leading delegates posed a big challenge, but we are confident that we delivered a world class event."
Bardin added: “The Summit on the Global Agenda was an exceptional opportunity for us to consolidate our position as a trusted partner to the Government of Dubai. This event also helped to build our reputation internationally within both the private and public sectors."
