Sun Biomedical Laboratories Inc. (SBL) recently announced an initial $68K order of its patented Visualine“ urine drug test strips by BioScreens, Inc. of Norfolk, VA. BioScreens, Inc. has developed an innovative split specimen urine test cup that is powered by SBL’s proprietary and patented Visualine“ test strips. This is the first substantial order following a distribution agreement between the two companies announced earlier this year. Under the agreement, Sun Biomedical develops and manufactures the membranes, while BioScreens manufactures the collection devices, as well as markets and distributes the finished product.
“Partnering with a seasoned direct marketer, like BioScreens, allows us to provide premium membranes to the growing workplace drug testing market in the U.S.,” stated Jack Kerins, CEO of Sun Biomedical. “This agreement reinforces our strategy of partnering with well-established market leaders who have an expansive distribution channel.”
The BioScreens CR3 Urine Split Specimen Cup will be available for volume delivery in January 2009.
