Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd (SEI), a 100% subsidiary of Schneider Electric Industries, today proudly announced the 4th edition of “Innovation Challenge 2008”, a unique contest to explore the budding engineering talent in India. The focus of this contest is, to make students think ‘out of the box’ and provide an opportunity to come up with innovative solutions to key energy related issues. The topics identified are “Electrification of rural areas at low cost”, “Innovative solutions to optimize energy usage” & “Web and wireless technologies to measure, monitor and control energy”.
The contest is open to engineering colleges across the country and students from all engineering disciplines are eligible to participate.
Participating teams need to send their solutions in the format given on the Innovation Challenge website before 16th November, 2008.
The short-listed teams would be invited to present their ideas/solutions at the Schneider R&D facility in Bangalore. The solutions will be evaluated by an elite panel of judges comprising of renowned professors from premier engineering institutions and distinguished experts from various functions of Schneider Electric viz. R&D, marketing & manufacturing.
The winning teams will be awarded a first prize of Rs. 1,00,000, 2nd Prize of Rs. 75,000 and 3rd Prize of Rs. 50,000.
