pTools today announced the completion of a significant deployment of pTools Content Management Software (CMS) for the new ‘Transparency Initiative’ at the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE), the European leader for the listing of asset backed securities. The project builds on the existing pTools implementation of a multi-dimensional website using pTools CMS software in conjunction with the ISE’s SharePoint based systems. It serves to increase the level of data and documentation transparency in the asset backed securities markets.
pTools worked with ISE’s IT department to extend back-office systems to deliver financial product documentation to ISE’s Internet site. Technically, the Initiative is about exposing thousands of documents online that would otherwise have been locked inside in-house systems and unavailable to the market.
Commenting on the Transparency Initiative service for the Irish Stock Exchange Mr Gerard Scully, Director, International Primary Markets says: "Much of the debate on the current credit crisis has centred on the level of data and documentation transparency in the asset backed securities markets. As well as enhancing transparency this implementation will enable broader investor access to key documentation including investor and financial reports, without any impediments such as password protection.”
The ISE believes that provision of such information is consistent with current marketplace initiatives, such as those being coordinated through the European Securitisation Forum2 and will in due course come to represent industry best practice.
Commenting on the pTools deployment for the Irish Stock Exchange Mark Scully, Head of Information Technology at the Exchange says: "pTools' CMS provides us with an easily managed and user-friendly exchange focused information tool that can be readily deployed and utilised throughout the company. The technology fits our IT strategy and pTools allows users to manage content for their area of business and interact with other departments. The system is straightforward to backup and restore, and there is a small footprint to cater for."

This transactional content is often critical to the business and in the case of the Irish Stock Exchange Transparency Initiative the value of timely and accurate content and information is even more evident.”
pTools for Microsoft SharePoint was released in 2007 and extends core CMS functionality to enhance SharePoint content management deployment and to integrate content management tasks easily within a single application user interface and content repository. By using pTools for Microsoft SharePoint organisations can generate content within the CMS and expose this content as web-parts for SharePoint.
