As PODS, Inc. in Clearwater Florida celebrates a historic company milestone with the delivery of its millionth PODS container, local PODS franchises in Ventura County, Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County, owned by Steve Yapp, also is celebrating.
“As a PODS franchise owner it is a thrill to be a part of the millionth PODS container delivery,” said Yapp. “We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their support and patronage since their business added to this momentous occasion.”
Upon opening his three PODS franchises in May 2005, Yapp immediately began contributing to the local community with the donation of PODS containers in several counties. In 2007 donations amounted to more than $78,000.
Beneficiaries of Yapp’s generosity throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Malibu, San Diego and Los Angeles counties include Boys & Girls Clubs, FOOD Share of Ventura County, Casa Pacifica, Toys 4 Tots, California Strawberry Festival, Ojai Music Festival, Relay for Life, C.H.P. Holiday Toy Drive, Salvation Army, Santa Maria Good Samaritan, Oxnard Downtown Management District, Boy Scouts of Ventura County, California Visitors Center, Simi Valley Days, Catholic Charities, and wildfire and flood relief efforts in Moorpark, San Diego and Malibu.

The concept is simple: PODS delivers an empty storage container and the customer loads it at their leisure. When packing is complete, PODS picks up the container and can store it in one of its secure Storage Centers as long as needed, or can move it across town or across the country.
PODS containers are constructed of a steel frame with specially-designed aluminum skin panels, can withstand 110-mph winds when partially filled, and have a load capacity of more than 3 tons. PODS containers are available in three sizes: approximately 7-by-7-by-8 feet, 8-by-8-by-12 feet and 8-by-8-by-16 feet.
