Located in booth 6.B22, ATTO will demonstrate proven, reliable high-performance storage connectivity solutions targeted towards high-end digital editing where workflow productivity is critical and performance must be optimal.
Demonstration One – High-Performance RAID for Direct Attached Storage
ATTO will feature its 3-Gb ExpressSAS SAS/SATA RAID Adapters demonstrating cost-effective, RAID data protection to direct attached SATA storage while providing for high-performance multiple-stream SD and HD video editing. ExpressSAS adds RAID at the host level to connect with inexpensive JBOD storage making this an affordable solution when compared to using costly RAID arrays. ExpressSAS RAID adapters are highly scalable -- you can expand your JBOD storage by connecting up to 64 devices. This host RAID solution provides high-performance RAID protection and support for applications running Mac®, Windows® and Linux.
Demonstration Two – ATTO Offers High-Availability RAID Solution for High-Performance SAN Environments
ATTO combines the industry’s only quad-channel Celerity 8-Gb Fibre Channel host adapter with its FastStream SC RAID Storage Controller to add high-availability storage for Mac platforms and high-performance RAID for shared storage.
This next-generation Celerity 8-Gb Fibre Channel host adapter features a custom multipathing driver for high-availability connectivity to storage for continuous uptime. The load balancing feature allows you to aggregate performance across multiple ports – in the event of a front-end path failure, the Celerity host adapter will route all traffic through the remaining path(s) for continued access to data.
The ATTO FastStream Storage Controller bridges one or multiple Fibre Channel workstations while adding RAID protection to low-cost SAS (or SATA) JBODs in a networked SAN environment. By aggregating inexpensive SAS disk storage, customers can have a low-cost, easy to manage storage infrastructure without the need to purchase expensive RAID arrays. The high-performance features of FastStream SC allow for multiple streams of SD and HD video editing as will be showcased at this demonstration. FastStream SC is designed specifically for digital media environments so that even if a potentially costly drive failure or rebuild occurs, full stream counts are maintained to continue workflow and meet project deadlines.
