BCI, a leading Jordanian advanced communications and technology company, has completed the implementation of a large-scale Polycom video conferencing project for the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD), which covers the department’s headquarters and 17 directorates across the Kingdom.
The video conferencing system will enable members of the team at the ISTD to communicate, interact and collaborate more effectively with one another across the Kingdom via video, resulting in a real-life visual communications experience.
Mr. Musa Al Tarawneh, Media Spokesperson at the ISTD stated, “ISTD deployed the video-conferencing solution from BCI as part of its efforts to prioritize and adopt the e-government approach and requirements. ISTD made the decision to implement the solution to enable the management to remain in direct contact with employees and clients via audio and video systems.” He added, “We believe that such an initiative will significantly contribute to simplifying the work of employees as well as speeding up processes and decreasing expenditures.”
Al Tarawneh went on to say, “Managers who work outside Amman will have the opportunity to attend meetings without actually leaving their office space. Auditors and Tax Evaluators who also live outside the capital can take advantage of this solution by communicating with companies anywhere in the Kingdom.” He added, “This system also boasts special features that allow companies to keep track of all audio and video communications.”
Labeeb Baransi, BCI CEO, stated, “The Polycom video conferencing solution revolutionizes communication by enabling people to enjoy all the benefits of real life communication.” He added, “As a key player in the ICT sector in Jordan and the region, BCI aims to connect people at anytime, anyplace, and in a virtual experience that is as natural as being there in person.”
Video conferencing solutions are increasingly being deployed in public and private sector organizations as a means to increase efficiency, accelerate the decision making process and reduce travel expenses. The technology is flexible and can be customized to suit the needs of corporations, universities, hospitals, hotels and factories and other organizations with multiple branches and a regional customer base.
