The Association for Wedding Professionals International (AfWPi) held their July 29th, 2008 meeting at the legendary City Club, on top of Bunker Hill in Downtown Los Angeles. AfWPi has been holding meetings nationwide to encourage the creation of standards for wedding professionals. The historic City Club on the 54th floor of the Wells Fargo Building in Downtown Los Angeles, CA hosted the event. In attendance were members of the AfWPi, and guests of members concerned with raising standards in the Wedding industry.

Vendors representing every aspect of wedding celebrations were in attendance. From event planners such as Shirvan Designs, to lighting, to DJ's, across the board wedding professionals from every aspect were discussing the importance of qualified vendors.

The problem in an open market is that just about anyone can put up a shingle and declare themselves any type of wedding vendors. Unfortunately for those of us who are truly trained professionals delivering quality products to our clients, the prospective clients can easily be sold on an inferior vendor and or products. One solution to providing a high level of service to our clients is to use referrals of professionals we have worked with in the past and know first hand the level of work they produce consistently.
