In an ancient church, six large “Sails” welcome you in the dark. They seem to be gliding in light and become an ideal centre for a total listening experience, an inner experience which deeply engages all your senses and your powers of perception, leading you on a voyage towards other times and other places, and inside yourself.
The premiere took place in Cittadella (Padova, Italy) from June 20 to June 30, 2008 in a XIII-century deconsecrated church called Torresino. Due to the large attendance, the end of the event was postponed until July 4.
Esehcrut was fully booked up every night. From nine to twelve pm, four groups of “listeners/travellers” (three per group, about 170 in all) could live this exclusive experience lasting about 45 minutes. Eight-year-old children and retired people, housewives and professionals, artisans and artists: everybody lived a deep and enthralling experience. Their photos and comments are published on immaginario sonoro website.
The concept of Esehcrut, the artistic project and the work of music research are by Luigi Alberton. The Sails are by Bellarmino De Poli. The whole artistic project was supported and realized by Alberton Consulting: the company has produced the work of music research and recorded it in its multimedia studios; it has then organized the event in Cittadella and designed the communication project.
Alberton Consulting is an Italian company working in the field of communication and integrated marketing strategies. The company has long been committed to researching into new points of intersection between art, design and communication, and promotes artistic research through its own publishing house, Immaginario Sonoro Edizioni.
Esehcrut is intended to become a touring installation and will be presented at other places of art in Italy or abroad, such as deconsecrated churches, museums or old mansions.
