With the release of 4.3 ADAM delivers all the ADAM known strengths such as infinite taxonomy, robust media workflows, all format support, flexibility, scalability, …, with even better search options, broad video support with large preview capabilities and a unique rules-concept to automatically trigger workflows.
Broader video support enables enhanced video ingest and video preview, support for all common video and audio formats, including auto creation of previews.
“ADAM 4.3 will make your motion library as lively as it is meant to be. We've made sure that browsing your footage will be as swift and efficient as querying your digital artwork library.
Centrally stored footage is transcoded into a preview format within a given timespan, e.g. a 54" HD film will be transcoded to a lowres movie for the whole or for a given duration of the movie. A nifty tool that can be a real timesaver. The preview plays in the embedded Microsoft Silverlight player, or -using the Adam provider model- in any player of your choice (Flex, QuickTime, ...).
This same 54" HD movie can be made available for different audiences with different needs for quality or bandwidth restrictions. Clips for web will be distributed "web ready" whilst at the same time your television spot producer can download the full HD version.
Intelligent new Rules framework with Workflow kick-off-triggers makes it extremely easy for an administrator to configure which workflow has to start if someone changes an object in ADAM (records, files, classes, users, …). Creation of a Job-bag-record kicks-off multiple tasks to multiple people: copywriter, photographer, DTP,…
“Whenever a new picture is uploaded, ADAM triggers a workflow for quality control, meta-data-insertion, etc...“
With ADAM 4.3 customers will continue to experience the intuitive interface and Workflow capabilities found in earlier versions of ADAM, but this latest release also includes many new features that expand the product's functionality like:
Expanded Full txt-search: Next to the powerful ADAM full text search-engine ADAM 4.3 can also be configured to work with the Microsoft Sql Server 2005 Full-Text Search engine
Additional Files: A collection of Additional Files is available on File Versions, next to the main image preview. Can be used to store various video previews or image renderings, for example. (web output, high res output, …) new classification browser control: gives even more options to system integrators to customize classification structures on customers demand; system integrators are not only able to change look and feel of the classification tree, but also the actions when a node is clicked-upon as well as install new checkboxes, enhanced documentation: ADAM documentation extended and restructured, based on customers feedback.
“With 4.3 ADAM going all the way to meet and exceed enterprise users’ expectations by fully embracing workflow management and Digital Asset Management (DAM). By tearing down data silos we initiated this concept by offering DAM with status driven workflows. Followed by DAM with Visio-driven workflow based on a full BPM (business process management)-solution in 2007, we now complete the offering in ADAM 4.3 with a rules engine that allows enterprise users to sport their workflow with the most powerful rules and kick-off triggers. In a nutshell: in ADAM 4.3 DAM and workflow become one,” concludes Pieter Casneuf, partner of ADAM Software.
