Bagel Bagel Café (Bagel Bagel) has announced Paul Sangermano as General Manager. Sangermano brings over 20 years of restaurant experience to Bagel Bagel. He has worked at several Southwest Florida hotels and eateries and was responsible for kitchen operations, inventory control, menu creation and customer satisfaction.
Sangermano comes to Bagel Bagel from Maine’s Best Seafood, on Fort Myers Beach, where he was general manager. While there, he was awarded “Best Appetizer 2007” by Taste of the Beach for his lobster cakes, a dish he created from scratch. Taste of the Beach is a culinary contest sponsored annually by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce.
At Bagel Bagel, Sangermano will be responsible for daily operations as well as marketing, sales, promotions and catering. He attended The University of South Florida and is a native of Oyster Bay, N.Y.
“Paul’s career exemplifies the superior quality and service that we are bringing to Bagel Bagel”, commented Bethany Trevett, franchise co-owner. “In addition to his culinary expertise, he also brings long-standing relationships with customers and suppliers.”
Bagel Bagel Café (bagelbagelcafe.com) opened its first location in Tallahassee, Fla. in July 1991 as Bagel Bagel, “A Place So Nice We Named It Twice.” Although the name gave the impression of a “bagel only” restaurant, the concept quickly earned its reputation as a great eatery for specialty bagel creations and outstanding breakfast and lunch sandwiches, thus it came to be known as Bagel Bagel Café. Construction on Bagel Bagel in Fort Myers began in January 2008 and is scheduled for a mid-May opening. It will be located at 13391 McGregor Blvd. just north of Cypress Lake Drive.
