Netviewer Single Event Edition, available from today, provides the ability to deliver presentations with live audio and video, from the desktop of a standard PC, to audiences of up to one thousand participants.
The new service from Netviewer eliminates the need for organisations to purchase and maintain expensive conferencing infrastructure for occasional large scale briefings such as employee updates, training or promotional events. Instead customers simply notify Netviewer of the planned date and time for their meetings and are provided with a small programme which is run by the presenter to start the meeting.
“With the introduction of Netviewer Single Event Edition we are providing businesses of any size with a simple, no fuss way to deliver large scale web meetings from any PC on a standard internet connection“, said Rachel Lane, Managing director of Netviewer UK. “The ability to rapidly and clearly share information with large groups of people is a vital part of a corporate communications tool kit.”
Netviewer Single Event Edition requires no software installation and as the programme communicates over standard internet connections, it is not necessary to make changes to the network or firewalls – Netviewer’s servers host the meeting and provide the necessary bandwidth and processing power to serve those viewing the meeting.
The presenter of the meeting can share any application on their PC with the entire audience, allowing them to show presentations, supporting materials and to demonstrate software or web applications. The presenter’s speech is delivered to the audience via Netviewer’s built-in VoIP – removing the need to provide international dial in numbers and telephone conference bridge capacity.
The moderator can appoint a co-moderator to allow multi-person presentations, even when they are not in the same physical location, and is able to provide files for download to the audience, for example a copy of the presentation, documents being discussed, notes or even trial versions of an application being demonstrated.
Audience feedback can be gathered through the included survey tool to check audience understanding or to gather data for follow up. Participants can also provide instantaneous feedback to the moderator via emoticons, which they can click to display.
Netviewer Single Event Edition provides the option to record the complete meeting including images, video and audio for playback. This allows information generated during discussions to be captured for later use or for people to review presentations at their convenience.
Participants wishing to join the meeting are provided with a link to run a small client programme which instantly connects them to the meeting. Once in the meeting they can see and hear the presenter and, via a built-in instant message system, ask questions via the meeting moderator.
Meetings through Netviewer Single Event Edition can be booked for a single event or, at a discounted rate, in a package of 5 events.
Netviewer looks forward to welcoming you at Internet World in London (29th April -30th April 2008), Earls Court, Stand W186. The Company would also be pleased to schedule an interview with its company management.
