ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments is pleased to announce that Autodesk, Inc., a world leader in design innovation technology, will be integrating ATTO Celerity 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel Host Adapters as part of certain Autodesk visual effects and editing/finishing demonstrations at NAB. ATTO’s Celerity FC-44ES host adapter will be utilized to demonstrate high-performance data transfers between workstations and storage systems accessed by Autodesk Inferno, Autodesk Flame and Autodesk Flint software for visual effects systems, as well as the Autodesk Smoke software for editing/finishing systems.
The Celerity FC-44ES optimizes the latest in host interconnect technology with PCI Express (PCIe), a serial, high-speed connection that supports aggregate throughput up to 1-GB/sec. Since PCI Express host adapters move data more efficiently than others, the FC-44ES provides a valuable advantage in data intensive environments such as HD and 2K editing applications. The FC-44ES also features ATTO’s exclusive Advanced Data Streaming (ADS™) Technology for controlled acceleration of data transfers. With a combination of features that provides controlled acceleration of large and small blocks of data, ADS Technology enables users to achieve the ultimate in I/O performance.
The Autodesk storage solutions optimize digital content creation workflows by providing immediate high-resolution playback and fast rendering, while minimizing a facility’s network traffic. Integrated device control for media ingest and output offers convenience and allows for efficient project archiving, enabling users to back up in-progress and completed work.
“ATTO is pleased to be a part of Autodesk’s booth demonstrations at NAB,” states Ed Tierney, director of marketing for ATTO. “ATTO has been providing technology leading connectivity solutions for the media and entertainment solutions markets for two decades. Our involvement with Autodesk’s industry-leading systems and services, provides us with an opportunity to demonstrate how ATTO storage infrastructure solutions simplify and improve digital media workflow.”
“The Autodesk systems have been adopted by leading visual effects and post-production facilities around the globe, and our customers have rigorous editing and post-production requirements,” said Bruno Sargeant, broadcast industry manager, Autodesk Media & Entertainment. “ATTO is recognized as a technology leader for developing storage connectivity solutions to meet those requirements, and their host adapters are an integral part of our powerful and comprehensive post-production workflow demonstrations at NAB.”
