His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah inaugurated Dunkin’ Donuts 44th outlet in the UAE at Bin Daher in Ras Al Khaimah. The opening is part of the world’s biggest coffee and baked goods chain’s massive expansion drive in the UAE.
“Ras Al Khaimah is our 44th outlet in the UAE. Dunkin’ Donuts is undergoing a massive expansion in the UAE in response to the warm welcome and loyal patronage we received not only from UAE Nationals but also from expatriates,” said David Rodgers, General Manager of Dunkin’ Donuts.
Ras Al Khaimah is currently experiencing strong economic growth along with other emirates in the UAE Federation and a number of international food and beverage franchises are coming to the UAE to cater to the growing population of residents and visitors alike.
“This is a very exciting phase in our development and out of our planned 15 new outlets in the UAE, 11 opened last year. This number will reach 50 in the next couple of months - a fairly rapid expansion programme that we’ve been able to implement because of the popularity of the brand,” Mr. Rodgers stressed.
He added that Dunkin’’ Donuts certainly seems to have struck a chord with residents and visitors alike within the emirates. “In November, 2007 we have celebrated our tenth anniversary in the UAE and the milestone figure of ten million cups of coffee served to our customers here.”
He observed that as the Asian operations of Dunkin’ Donuts maintain the tempo, “We foresee the Middle East and North Africa region to offer tremendous potential for our business.”
With the opening of this outlet, Dunkin’' Donuts - the world's largest coffee and baked goods chain with a sizeable presence in the Middle East and North Africa region - has once again demonstrated its commitment to the region, for which it has an investment outlay of more than AED10 million spread over the next three years.
“Within a decade of commencing operations in the UAE, we have become one of the most established players in the coffee and donuts sector, catering to a multi-national community of customers across the UAE.”
With more than 7,000 outlets in 29 countries worldwide, Dunkin’ Donuts currently, serves more than 2.7 million customers a day. Besides the GCC region, the company’s most significant presence overseas includes the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, Germany, Spain, Greece, and Turkey.
