Doremus, the specialist business communications agency, ran a poll on their corporate web site from mid-January to mid-February 2008. The question posed to visitors was: “Do you find political advertising informative and useful in guiding your point of view about the candidates?”
The responses were:
NO: 55%
YES: 36%
MAYBE: 9%
Carl Anderson, President and CEO of Doremus said, “While this isn’t a scientific poll, the strong ‘no’ response suggests that political advertising needs a major makeover. It can get a candidate’s face in front of the voters, but the ads themselves aren’t resonating. Candidates might rethink their strategies, stay on point and use multiple media channels to reinforce their messages.”
Doremus runs an online poll every month with questions that pertain to business, culture, advertising or marketing.
