Desire2Learn, Inc., a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise eLearning solutions, today announced that Washington School for the Deaf, a state-funded school and education center, has adopted the Desire2Learn solution to provide a robust, flexible learning environment for many students with hearing loss. Key factors in the decision included a variety of interactive components found in the Desire2Learn solution, such as the ability to chat, easily store information, and include video streaming. In addition, the flexible approach to training and individualized support services matched the diverse needs of the agency.
The Washington School for the Deaf (WSD) is a K-12 state-funded educational, consulting and transitional center for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, their families and public schools in Washington State. WSD is committed to addressing students’ needs through a variety of educational and social services to ensure that they transition successfully into their adult lives. The Desire2Learn solution will enable WSD to achieve their goals of providing direct instruction to students from certified teachers of the deaf/hard of hearing, regardless of where students live. WSD plans to provide courses related to a variety of subjects and age groups. The solution supports primary and secondary education needs with a secure and flexible environment, one that meets the reporting and management requirements of teachers and administration.
