A new company, Custom Game Co., has been formed to develop card and board games that are designed and themed specifically to suit companies and organizations to use for branding and fund-raising purposes. "I see a niche for games that are crafted from the ground up with the client in mind," says Ward Batty, CEO.
Custom Game Co. also creates great games that can be used by organizations, communities and educational institutions as a unique product or premium for fundraising. "Why sell generic products, when supporters can be offered a unique collectible?" says Batty.
Additionally, Custom Game Co. creates games themed to specific events and festivals. This is a great way for attendees to enjoy a bit of the event year-round in a way that adds value to their festival experience.
"We are also exploring the ever-improving print on demand technology," says Batty, "We hope to be able to offer small groups and even individual customers the opportunity to create a customized game they can enjoy with friends and family."
For companies, Custom Game Co. provides a game that can be used as a branding tool with customers, employees and shareholders. "Playing a game that has been designed and themed around the company and its products pulls the customer into the world of the company in a unique way." says Batty. Custom Game Co. aims to provide the players with a positive social experience. The combination of the theme and game experience offers companies a branding opportunity that Batty says has not been fully exploited to date.
Custom Game Co. offers their services to ad agencies and other branding companies on a consulting basis, as well as directly to companies and organizations. "We are pleased to be able to offer our services at the level required to make the project a success," says Batty, "from consulting to full design, manufacturing and distribution."
The games offered by Custom Game Co. are called social games. A social game is a card or board game that is simple to learn with engaging game play that involves the players in a positive and social way. "These are nothing like the roll-and-move games with the 'gotcha' element you played as a kid," says Batty.
Batty says the first thing the company needed was a great product to offer clients. To that end, Custom Game Co. has acquired the exclusive English-language rights to a classic card game by designer Reiner Knizia. Knizia is one of the world's top game designers with over two hundreds games published in over a dozen countries. Published in Germany as Trendy and Crazy Derby, this game has not been offered in English. "This is a great game that has been enjoyed for years around the world yet is largely unknown to most of the English-speaking public. We are very pleased that Dr. Knizia agreed to allow us to offer such a great game to our clients, themed to their specific needs."
