San Diego, CA, United States, 2008/01/15 - An unprecedented fundraiser titled, An Imaginary Journey Through Middle Eastern Dance, a production to benefit needy children and elderly of the YMCA, at San Diego City College’s Saville Theatre on January 20, 2000, at 3:00 pm.

Sahar Sami of The Academy of Egyptian Dance teams up with Maryann Nowell, Coordinator at the Mission Valley YMCA and director of Dunyana, a Middle Eastern Fusion Dance Troupe, to produce an unprecedented fundraiser titled, An Imaginary Journey Through Middle Eastern Dance at San Diego City College’s Saville Theatre on January 20, 2000, at 3:00 pm.
The goal of this event is to raise funds for the YMCA Annual Support Campaign Outreach program. 100% of the proceeds will go to support underprivileged families, senior citizens and inner city children with dance lessons, swim lessons and tuition for an incredible summer camp experience in Julian at Camp Marston.
Dancers from as far as The Dominican Republic and Alexandria, Egypt will participate along with some of Southern California’s top belly dancers. Combining traditional Middle Eastern Dance elements with creative expressions “An Imaginary Journey through Middle Eastern Dance” will take you through an unforgettable journey full of creativity presenting fusion and traditional Egyptian dance.
Tickets are available at the Mission Valley YMCA or at Saville Theatre the day of the event.
