The deal establishes Ippon Technologies as a premier partner in France, Switzerland, and Morocco.
The partnership brings together category-leading technology from MuleSource and implementation expertise from Ippon Technologies to serve a growing demand to better integrate information systems and applications. Today, Mule is the most widely used open source enterprise service bus (ESB) on the market with over 1 million downloads and more than 2,000 organisations running Mule as a core piece of their SOA strategy. France, for example, is the second largest European market for Mule and the French SOA market looks set to maintain double digit growth over the next 5 years, providing a ripe opportunity for Ippon Technologies to leverage Mule as a foundation for developing and deploying mission-critical applications.
The formalised partnership agreement follows a successful collaboration between the two companies to integrate an open source messaging backbone architecture with a range of healthcare CRM solutions developed by CEGEDIM, the world's leading CRM provider for the healthcare sector.
“The requirement was to procure an ESB rather than build it ourselves,” begins Julien Dubois, Data Flow Development Manager at CEGEDIM. “We already used several robust, high quality solutions from the Open Source Java space. Mule, although a young technology at the time, performed well and is extremely well thought out. We found Ippon Technologies while looking for partners with skills in Open Source Java solutions and ESBs. Their engineers have accompanied us throughout different projects involving Mule and are highly competent in J2EE technologies.”
At present, Mule and Ippon Technologies are involved in a range of CEGEDIM projects including:
• Global Invoices Systems (GIS): electronic data transmission of invoices for insurance companies, hospitals & pharmaceutical companies around the World.
• Qualitrans-Telepharma: transmission of payment permissions from healthcare insurance companies to pharmacies through the Carte Vitale, the French social security card. More than 100 million transactions per year.
• Electronic transmission of product orders for hospitals.
Commenting on the agreement with Ippon Technologies, Ross Mason, CTO of MuleSource and founder of the Mule project, said: “This partnership is the culmination of our experience working with Ippon Technologies over the past two years on CEGEDIM projects. We’ve learned that French customers have very high standards for software integration and the only way to meet and exceed these expectations is to be very ‘local.’ Ippon Technologies has been our door into France and been instrumental in driving the adoption of the Mule project in France as well in Switzerland and Morocco.”
“Ippon Technologies is committed to providing top-level service to MuleSource customers in French-speaking markets. Our aim is to ensure that our customers’ SOA projects are as successful as those implemented at CEGEDIM,” adds Geoffray Gruel, Deputy Managing Director of Ippon Technologies.
“Mule has provided us with a highly scalable and flexible architecture and has allowed us to expand our systems beyond where we imagined possible,” continued Dubois. “We are delighted that MuleSource has now established a presence here through Ippon Technologies, a company we value highly and which is a great asset to CEGEDIM.”
