MedTrackAlert, a consumer health news provider, today announced it launched Infertility News and Menopause News to meet a huge demand from consumers for objective, credible and up-to-date information on those topics. This launch expands MedTrackAlert’s roster of free online health newsletters—distributed to its almost 800,000 subscribers—from 19 to 21. Consumers can subscribe to MedTrackAlert newsletters at the MedTrackAlert website.
“As a leader in tracking disease-specific news for a continually growing subscriber base, we constantly conduct market research to identify topics of broad interest to consumers whose information needs aren’t being currently met,” said Veronica Combs, editor-in-chief at MedTrackAlert. “Specifically, we look for areas that generate a constant stream of news from a variety of sources. Our market research showed that women want information that will keep them better informed about both fertility and menopause treatments and research. Women of all ages want to understand all the options for solving their health problems.”
According to Combs, “Another major factor that led MedTrackAlert to launch our infertility newsletter is that about 6 million women and their partners are dealing with infertility. There is a lot of news and research about infertility, but there isn’t a central place where a reader can track it all. We offer an unbiased clearinghouse of information that readers can trust and rely upon.”
Infertility News and Menopause News will summarize breaking news published by news wire services, mainstream print and TV media, and health publications from associations, universities and academic medical centers. These abstracts will include Web links to the full, original articles. Infertility News will also include original content from MedTrackAlert evaluating the merits and costs of various fertility treatments, starting in the first quarter of 2008.
MedTrackAlert is a consumer health information company dedicated to providing objective, timely information about a broad spectrum of chronic diseases and conditions. In addition to infertility and menopause, MedTrackAlert’s newsletters also provide news about: acid reflux, Alzheimer’s, asthma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), breast cancer, cancer, chronic pain, Crohn’s disease, depression and anxiety, diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, mental health, migraines, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, sleep disorders and weight management.
To date, more than 33,000 consumers have subscribed to Infertility News, which is published weekly. Menopause News will be published weekly starting in January
