Nationally award-winning journalist, Roland Martin, is not only a CNN Contributor, host of “The Roland Martin Show” on WVON-AM in Chicago, columnist and daily blog writer for Essence.com and commentator for TV- One Cable Network, he is also an author releasing his 2nd book entitled, “Listening to the Sprit Within: 50 Perspectives on Faith.”
Dubbed the man with “a fresh perspective for the 21st century, “ Roland has a sort of wit, knowledge and confidence that has made him attractive to hosts of all persuasions in the rapidly growing sphere of political talk. To that talk, he has added urban culture and religion. In his latest literary installment, Roland has written a compilation of faith-based essays that are bold, honest and uncompromising in addressing contemporary issues from a Spiritual perspective. All the while, readers get an intimate peek into Roland’s passion and faith for the Word of God. Roland is honest, forthright and focused as he speaks candidly about what God has placed in his spirit - about the relevance of faith in everyday life, and how living a life for the Lord can have a positive effect on all aspects of our lives.
According to Dr. Cornel West, Professor of Religion, Princeton University, "Roland Martin is a fresh and powerful voice on the scene. His insights on life, religion, culture and politics are rich. Don't miss him!"
“Listening to the Sprit Within: 50 Perspectives on Faith”, Roland reiterates God’s desire to speak to us daily concerning our lives using varied methods. More importantly, Roland elaborates on how mandatory it is that we possess faith as well as an intimate and personal relationship with God in order to hear when God speaks to us.
Chuck D, founder of rap group, Public Enemy, puts Roland‘s book into a very insightful and relative perspective: "In these times common sense is not common. It takes a reaching inside to reinforce humanity against programmed society and culture. Roland Martin's latest book is a roadmap in some damn sure cloudy times. I've always dug his sharp insight and this book is guide we can keep close to us recognizing the God in us and not just join a shelf of other reads afterwards. Roland Martin is indeed a millennium visionary as well as a beacon clearing our spiritual vision through these modern day whippings of mass distraction, whether cultural, social or religious."
With titles like, “Don’t just thank God, represent Him”, “A Spiritual lesson from Sex in the City”, “Ordinary people, extraordinary God”, “A Spiritual graduation” and “Marriage: a gift from God”, Martin invites readers on a life altering journey by showing readers how to embrace a spiritual perspective on everyday thoughts, trials, situations, decisions and circumstances.
