BountyFishing.com is an online social networking site for fishing enthusiasts and host of “The World’s Largest Fishing Tournament.”
BountyFishing began with a vision, to unite fishing enthusiasts of America under one digital umbrella. After merely months of operation, the site is already making virtual waves on the Internet. In its inaugural summer season, thousands of anglers participated in the “The World’s Largest Fishing Tournament” which awarded $125,000 in prize money to more than 70 individual anglers from across North America. Each week BountyFishing awarded $1,300 to the top 3 anglers in each category with $1,000 going to the angler with the biggest catch – fish are measured by length.
How it works
There are thousands of tournaments each year, but not everybody can compete. Often because the fishermen is not near the body of water where the tournament is held or the tournament schedule conflicts with today's busy lives. The BountyFishing tournament is a unique concept, open to anglers from across North America, registered participants can fish anywhere that they like whenever they want. Entries are based on digital images submitted to BountyFishing via the Internet and winners are judged by length rather then weight, so catch a release is no problem, just two quick pictures and your in the running.
Through BountyFishing’s forensics specialist and tournament rules and regulations, the contest has already begun to transform an average day on the water into a national competition. In doing so, BountyFishing is creating celebrities out of recreational anglers. This summer’s Master Angler, Aaron Wiebe won close to $20,000 alone.
