Strive for Life Foundation announced today its acceptance from the IRS for tax exempt 501c3 charitable status. This is the final step in becoming a non-profit charitable organization. The organization was created to work with orphanages and homes for street children in Romania by offering them necessary supplies such as blankets, clothes, food, and medical supplies. They also will provide groups of volunteers to fly over to Romania and help these homes care for the children.
Founder Sheila Rodgers was excited about the organization getting the news. “We are pleased to say our dream is finally coming true now that we are tax exempt. We look forward to making a difference in the lives of these children that people have forgotten.” The abuse and neglect these children go through on a daily basis has been well-documented by news sources all over the world. One only needs to search the phrase “Romanian children” on the internet to find hundreds of heart-wrenching articles and stories relating to the struggles of these children, and the desperation of a country that is unable to properly care for their young.
Strive for Life (striveforlife.com) hopes to bridge the gaps and provide assistance and support where the Romanian government and other non-profit organizations are unable to assist. With projects planned to assist with education, healthcare, social development and parental development, the organization attempts to provide a unique and all-inclusive program for the institutions they help.
