Indianapolis, IN, United States, 2007/10/11 - The Art Institute of Indianapolis hosts gallery exhibition for Chicago faculty member and renowned realist painter Bruno A. Surdo - ArtInstitutes.edu.

The exhibition will be hosted in the school’s main gallery, which regularly showcases pieces produced by local faculty and students enrolled in design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts programs.
The opening for the Bruno Surdo Exhibition will be held Wednesday, October 17 from 5 pm. to 8 pm. at The Art Institute of Indianapolis located in the Pyramids Office Park at 3500 DePauw Boulevard on the northwest side of Indianapolis. The premiere includes a lecture by the artist at 5 pm. and public reception at 6 pm. The exhibition is open to the public Monday-Friday from 8 am to 8 pm through December 15. There is no admission fee.
Bruno Surdo is a faculty member of the Media Arts & Animation program at The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. For over 10 years, he has taught the school’s commercial art students life drawing, drawing and characterization, advanced drawing and portfolio presentation. As an artist, he is noted for adapting age-old archetypes and mythological themes to present-day settings. The nearly two-month-long exhibition at The Art Institute of Indianapolis will feature some of his most well-known pieces including “Prophecy of Man,” “Splintered Self” and “Phases of Time.” All are oil paint on canvas.
