A serious attempt to make technologies for the masses and by the masses.
Historical aspect
• As we know that 20 th century was the age of industrial revolution. This had given us jobs for skilled & unskilled workers. The industrial pollution was its bio product.
• Where as 21 st century is the era of information and communication technologies. The father of ICT in India was former prime minister late Sh. Rajeev Gandhi, who had conceived the idea of 21 st century India in 1986.That idea of him is paying to country handsomely as we a leading nation IT sector today.
Why this project is required ?
Revolution has provide jobs opportunities to ICT skilled & high skilled workers only, due to application of ICT in industrial sector has also decreased the number employments in this sector for all sections of workers. Thus limiting participation of general public in this revolution.
2. The main objective of ICT is to give maxim information through common communication. If we left 73% of rural/sub urban population in this movement then ICT can not achieve its goal in India.
3. The youth activeness in national works is declining day by day &making them insensitive to present situation of nation. It is because most of rural/sub urban (unskilled workers areas) youth think themselves irrelevant in this ICT era.
4. To provide additional sources of statistics/information to national policies planners.
(RETICT) Strength of the project
• India has a unique feature in today world i.e. its population. Its huge population has played negative role in its achievements for development.
• Here we will not discuss the population explosion.
But in today ICT era we have to plan our policies in such ways that our weakness (huge population) will become our strength.
In this rural employment through information and communication technologies (RETICT) project will try to use numbers to achieve some thing special for all. Maximum numbers is our mantra to success.
What RETICT project will do?
• It will generate equal & all important participation of skilled and unskilled workers in ICT revolution to archive prime goal (employments for all).
• As this project is special meant for rural/semi urban area where ICT revolution has not expanded its base yet. When they (youth) will join RETICT, they will have to play very crucial role to build parallel data sources in India. Thus working for parallel national data sources they will rethink their relevance in national policies planning and start to play role in future India.
• The computer is a machine which needs input to produce output, for inputs data/information is required. As in our country has limited data sources to get statistics on any subject.
It is the fundamental requirement for any types of planning. Mostly government controlled statistics sources (census, surveys & researches) are only available to policies planners in India. RETICT will provide parallel statistics sources to national policies planners to verify their data.
• In RETICT rural youth will get jobs at their villages' levels so migration of villagers to metro/towns will reduce thus resulting into decrease in population pressure on urban area.
• It will do ground work for ICT revolution in rural India by connecting them with (villages information) to internet website will also develop IT approach among them.
How RETICT will work?
The media research wing of abcnewsnetwork will have a headquarter at new Delhi which will act as nodal centre of all its activies. It will also have 35 sub head quarters in all states /UTcapitals and all will connect with website through internet.
What ABC will do with this information?
• We will provide these statistics/information to needy institution like govt.& research agencies at very nominal charge/ free of charge as per requirement
What I.Vs will get for their work?
• As this project is plan to give jobs to youth in their village level. All I.Vs will get Rs 100 for one upload information /month. This amount will increase with every new information upload on different subjects. As per our planning after 1-2 years each I.Vs can earn up to Rs2000-2500/month at their village level additional to his/her traditional work.
From where this money will come?
• Providing these statistics to needy institutions.
• Active participation in pulse polio campaign. Our I.Vs will work in pulse polio campaign. It will fetch them an average Rs/-100/annum as it paid to all volunteers in this campaign.
• To become DOTS providers in revised national tuberculosis programe. It can also earn them an average Rs/-500/year.
• As Indian government is running sarv shiksha abhiyan our national wide I.Vs network can render their services in this national progammes, which can also give them some monetary benefits as under government present guide lines.
• Marketing our huge national wide I.Vs network. As all big companies/MNCs are looking for new market for their in India. In multi marketing/rural retail marketing our I.Vs network can render them our paid services.
• Government: it can make this project success by giving logistical/moral support.
• International agencies can play help to us to achieve our goal by inter connecting their many programmes with our project.
• Corporate help is also sought from IT giants in softwares/hardwares.
• Any other NGOs/individual who wants to co-operate are welcome .

Conclusion
• As this century is age of Information & communication technologies. Before talking of ICT in rural India first we should try to develop IT approach in common rural citizens. This will not develop in one day by just providing them with latest commuters and internet highways. Here our I.Vs at every village levels will have very important & crucial role to play in coming ICT revolution in India specific and in world general. They will be torch carriers in ICt approach among rural.
• Our national ICT policies have aimed to expand internet base in India for that internet rural kiosks are in government ICT agenda. In situation our I.Vs network will become back bone of ICT movement in India.
• Through this project ICT will come close to common villagers as they feel to themselves relevant with ICT.
