Reviewing portfolios is a waste of time. All you’ll see is very good showcase work, created to solve problems very different from the ones you’re facing now.
My copywriting portfolio has hundreds of print ads, direct mailers and brochures (and that doesn’t include my TV commercials, radio spots, billboards, sales promotion, viral marketing, mobile marketing, text link ads and websites).
Out of all that, there are maybe three or four marketing communication pieces that are relevant to solving the problems you face. Plus I believe good enough is not enough.
