What SIP is?
Like all acronyms crowding the computer technologies, also SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) will seem to be an incomprehensible acronym to many, but the same was also true for VoIP in the beginning. If, on the other hand, using the PC to make phone calls is preferred, now it is possible to use Abbeyphone SIP with any operating system – including Linux and MacOSX – and with the most popular Web browsers, from Opera to Firefox.
Access to your own private area therefore remains indispensable only for account administration operations, but it is no longer necessary for making and receiving phone calls. But it will always be possible to make and receive phone calls and video calls in your own private area using the Abbeyphone webphone.
Furthermore, by the end of this year a deskbar for Windows XP will be released. It will offer complete management of your Abbeyphone account and the possibility to make and receive calls directly from the taskbar or from your Outlook client.
