Fresh Air Media Nashville is pleased to announce a new interactive website for Nashville Artist Paul Fly. Mr. Fly has a current focus on metal and mixed media sculpture, and a substantial body of work in ceramic, stone and acrylic on canvas.
Some of his latest creative works include surreal interpretive mixed media. Paul Fly often takes ordinary objects and breathes new life into the raw material by transforming the ordinary into the unique. The artist has a wide range in paint from canvas to metal panels. His works in paint range from exploring the world of animation to illustrating raw and profound emotion. “If there is a strand of cohesive thought which binds my collective body of work, it is this: I create whatever inspiration leads me to. Essentially, I see all art as a rudimentary illustration of the mind. I find this to be a wonderful excuse to produce things that amuse me, with the possible side effect of amusing others. Although I often feel that perhaps I should be trying to infuse all of my works with layers of deep political or religious tones, I rarely find myself drawn to actually do so. I also do not feel compelled to stick with a general look, or medium, or technique for that matter. My art may fall into certain categories such as abstract expressionism, or the more recent genre of pop surrealism, but I do not feel the need to identify my work or myself as a whole by these terms.”
Pursuing a life in the arts has led Fly to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Austin Peay State University. During his undergraduate studies he met the woman he would marry, becoming his most honest critic and dedicated promoter. Recently, Fly has returned to Franklin to take the position of lead sculptor at a themed entertainment company.
The artist's new website showcases many of the past and current works of this gifted Tennessee artist. Paul Fly (paulfly.com) has been honored at many regional and national exhibitions and shows great promise in the world of international art. Paul Fly welcomes private work for personal, business and artistic projects or endeavors, for private or public exhibition.
