It is well-known that diets fail at an astounding rate.

“To understand why diets fail, it is necessary to look to the starvation literature,” according to Applebaum, President of FitnessMed, Inc.

Comparing current expert diet recommendations to wartime rations, Applebaum has shown that the experts direct dieters to consume fewer Calories than concentration camp internees, those trapped in the Warsaw Ghetto and other victims of intentional killing by starvation.

“Expert diet advice provides the road map to nutritional suicide, not the directions to successful weight loss,” concludes Applebaum.

Despite the terrible track record of weight loss advice, it does not change.

“Virtually all expert diets are starvation diets. Diets only work when people voluntarily consume fewer Calories than they burn and this is sustained over time. Rational people are not willing to starve themselves long enough to lose the weight. Dieters are starved into failure.”

Failed dieters get even heavier, increasing their BMIs and the likelihood of dying.

“Expert diet advice does not teach the skills necessary to diet properly and then control intake for weight loss maintenance.”

In a review of the diet literature, Dr. Applebaum (DrApplebaum.com) has discovered the fundamental flaw underlying all expert diet advice.

“It is a biological, mathematical, physical and physiological impossibility to lose 1-2 pounds per week by reducing Calories between 500-1,000 daily,” says Applebaum. “Further, it cannot be done safely. The diet literature is corrupt.”

“Caloric reductions of these magnitudes are too great for dieters to tolerate. Expert diet advice only teaches dieters humiliation, disappointment, suffering, frustration, pain and how to starve.”

“Diet advice has to change to keep the experts from killing more people,” concludes Applebaum.
