iBAHN, a leading provider of broadband services to business travellers worldwide, today announced the opening of a ground-breaking Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Hammersmith, London, which will allow precise monitoring of its hotel broadband services.
The NOC represents the latest in a long line of technology investments aimed at strengthening iBAHN’s proprietary worldwide network. It is the only secure high speed internet service provider to offer an advanced operations centre purely for the hospitality trade, allowing hoteliers to present an unrivaled quality of service for their customers.
iBAHN recognises that broadband speed and security are the two of most important issues to hotel guests. As a result, access to a flexible and robust network is increasingly important to hoteliers, to support the rise in high bandwidth applications and content.
The NOC houses a complete Network Management System that functions as the nerve centre for iBAHN’s multi protocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone network in Europe.
The new facility allows day-to-day maintenance and offers a complete behavioural analysis of the system. This includes monitoring every piece of equipment attached to the network via Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) management tools, to detect faulty performance and alert a team of technicians who will action the issue before it is detected by the user.
Neil Williams, director of EMEA Operations at iBAHN, comments: “iBAHN’s NOC offers our clients an enhanced experience with complete peace of mind for all their connectivity requirements. We can now monitor, identify and action faults originating from any stage in our service, from installation through to connectivity issues in an individual hotel room. Furthermore, NOC allows us to proactively diagnose trends and predict issues, which will strengthen the network further still.”
iBAHN’s Hammersmith NOC is staffed by dedicated support technicians who monitor the iBAHN network using an array of 42 inch LCD screens, which allows real-time monitoring of network statistics and trends, and enables technicians to pinpoint any issue and deal with it directly.
