Philips Lifeline, in partnership with Philips Lighting, recently developed CareGlow, a motion activated resident safety lighting system, to be distributed through the HTS Certified Solutions Provider Dealer Network.
Senior living residents will no longer need to search for the light switch in a dark room when they are equipped with CareGlow. Like Philips Lifeline CarePoint emergency call system, CareGlow’s development revolved around enhancing resident safety in individual rooms and throughout commercial senior living facilities. The motion activated lighting system provides unobtrusive, soft white light and allows for placement either low on the wall or underneath a nightstand to illuminate the resident’s path.
The unique CareGlow system senses a room’s light level and only operates while dark. When CareGlow detects motion, it automatically provides light at full intensity with its low maintenance, long-life, white LED source. When mounted 12” above the floor, CareGlow achieves a 35 feet light range. Light is provided at full intensity for at least five minutes or as long as it detects motion in the room. Instead of turning off instantly or requiring manual turn-off, CareGlow takes 15 seconds to fade from full light to off.
The CareGlow system provides senior living facilities with a low maintenance lighting solution that installs simply by plugging the transformer into a standard 110V outlet. This affordable safety enhancement reduces liability, the incidence of resident falls, and increases overall marketability of resident safety for attracting new residents.
CareGlow is now available for distribution through Home Technology Systems and its Certified Solution Providers.
